Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the retiring of the SLS AMG in anticipation of the release of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT, which is a hardcore, masculine and decidedly athletic version of the outgoing car. But, before the current SLS AMG goes-off from market completely, this luxury automaker has announced a treat for the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ Japanese market; they will receive ultra-cool SLS AMG Matte Special Edition. In fact, this special edition is the second for Japan, as the German automaker also treated its Japanese customer base with another special edition model called the C63 AMG Performance Studio Edition.

The matter treatment has been given to both the roadster and coupe body styles, although the coupe version is limited to a flat white. Also, both new examples of the SLS AMG

However, the Matte Black Roadster model sports an iconic three-pointed star in red color on its grille, along with red grille trim. Additionally, the fender grills, the “6.3” badging, a pinstripe around the rim of the wheels, and the fuel door are all red as well. And, in the very same fashion, interiors also gets a two-tone, red and black color scheme.
However, the Matte White special edition boasts the same setup, except the red accents found on the Matte Black edition are black on the Matte White edition. A clean white pinstripe highlights the black tires and the interior is elegantly done in a black and white motif. Further, carbon-ceramic brakes are available on both models as an option, but no particular modifications on engine were performed on either of the models.
